Guide
Ten short chapters. The words match the buttons in the app.
Today
The day opens on the work, not on a menu.
Today’s tasks sits under the box where you add one. A task with no date, a task with a time, and a task that is late all share that list. A late one is marked Overdue.
Tap the circle to finish a task without opening it. Clear done files only the finished tasks for that day. The lists themselves stay.
Bring a list puts a whole list onto today, or only the tasks you pick. The schedule under that is for repeating days, such as school or a practice. Skip hides one date. Habits for today are under the schedule.
Lists and tasks
A new list is placed at the top.
Lists is the second button along the bottom. Hold and drag a list, a task, or a subtask to change the order.
Open a task to rename it, add a subtask, or write a note. The note saves as you type. There is no save button. Notes are included when you export.
Search looks through list names, task names, notes, and the archive.
Dates and bells
A date puts the task on that day.
Inside a task, set a date and, if you want, a time. It then shows under Today’s tasks on that day.
A bell can ring on the phone. Allow notifications when the phone asks. If you do not, the task still shows on the day. The bell is the only thing you miss.
Habits and badges
The week starts on Monday.
Habits is its own button. The habits are at the top. Badges for streaks and finished work sit at the bottom.
Tap the circle to log today. An open task can be turned into a habit, so something you already track does not have to be typed again.
Calendar
Day, week, and month live on the Calendar button.
Add a repeating day for work, school, music, or a sport. It can be every week or every other week, and the time can be different on each weekday. Name the person and the place when more than one child is involved.
A repeating day is not a task you check off. Skip hides one date, such as a sick day. Put back is in the editor. The month hides finished tasks, the same way the day does.
Other calendars
A link or a file. No account required.
Settings, then Public calendars. Paste one link per line. A name can sit in front, like School | and then the link. Each calendar has its own show box.
Settings, then Calendar files. Load an .ics file, or download a day as one. This is how a plan moves onto the phone, and how a day leaves it.
Archive
Finished work leaves the day, and is not thrown away.
Archive a finished list or task when the working pages should stay clear. The record stays in the archive.
From the archive, export a PDF or a spreadsheet. Both are meant to be read later, not only opened inside the app.
Home screen
The widget can sit on the wallpaper.
Add the WinnLife widget from the phone’s widget list. It can be resized.
Settings, then Home screen widget. The background can be transparent. A slider sets how solid it is. The words can be black or white. The circle on the widget marks a task or a habit done.
Light and dark
The phone remembers.
Settings, then Appearance. Choose light or dark. The choice stays on this phone.
On this phone
The plan is not an account.
Lists, tasks, notes, habits, and the schedule stay on the device. The store app does not sign you in, and it does not send the plan to the developer.
Android backup is off, so the plan is not copied into Google’s backup. Uninstalling the app removes what is stored on the phone.
